Summary: Gwen can't understand why Jack wants to hamper her investigation. A double drabble.
Gwen felt like her search for answers was only leading to even more questions. She didn’t want to believe what Andy was trying to tell her, that people sometimes simply went missing and that it had nothing to do with Torchwood; that people sometimes left because they didn’t want to be found. She thought that felt a bit hypocritical given he was the one that had been going to the support meetings for the families of those who’d gone missing without a trace.
And now she had proof, thanks to Tosh, that there was in fact a Torchwood connection. So why was it that Jack was so insistent on shutting her down? Surely he’d want to know that there was a casual link and that they needed to investigate it so that they could stop it from happening, if that was even possible. Instead he had turned cold and unemotive about it. That just wasn't like him.
Now though, Ianto had left something on her desk. She knew that he knew something more but was trying to play arbiter. After all, she’d never had Ianto insist he’d try to talk Jack into coming around to her point of view before.
