torchwood100Summary: Owen isn't as oblivious as everyone thinks. A double drabble.
Everyone seems to think that Owen is completely stupid. Okay, so he has his occasional moments where he acts before he thinks, but you don't get through medical school and a residency in emergency medicine if you’re a dummy.
IQ is one thing that perhaps the team can’t deny, but Owen’s emotional quotient seems permanently up for debate. Of course he knows that Tosh fancies him, and has done for ages, even before Gwen joined. He’d be a complete idiot if he hadn’t noticed, but at the same time, he knows better than to lead her on.
He’s gone out of his way to try and put her off by playing at being willfully blind – sometimes a total bastard. He’d slept with Gwen for a few weeks but that had nothing to do with Tosh, and didn't seem to have put her off after they’d agreed it was a bad idea to keep going.
The difficulty Owen had was that he just didn’t see them having a future together. Tosh was brilliant and kind and sometimes even funny. She deserved better than a useless twat like Owen, especially now that he was dead.
Tosh still has a future. Owen doesn’t.
