Summary: Ianto has to call on Jack to save the day.

Jack wasn't expecting a phone call from Ianto. He'd requested the afternoon off work. He hadn't said why, but given how hard he worked and the private sort of person Ianto was, he didn't ask.

'What's up, gorgeous?'

'I need your help,' Ianto said. 'Um, actually, it's more like a favour.'

'Anything for you,' Jack replied. He wasn't even sure why Ianto felt the need to ask.

'My car's broken down,' he said, watching as steam billowed from underneath the hood.

'And you need a lift?'

'Not me. The kids.'

Kids?  'What kids?'

Ianto sighed leaning back against the car, pinching the bridge of his nose. 'My sister's kids. I was meant to pick them up from swimming after school.'

'No stress,' Jack said. 'I'll swing by and grab you on the way.'

'No, I'm already twenty minutes late waiting for roadside assist. You'll have to go direct.'

'On my way,' Jack said, grabbing his coat. 'We'll pick you up on the way back.'

'Jack?'

'Yeah?'

'They're stranger danger kids. They're not just going to get in a car with you. When you get there, call me. I'll tell them it's okay. God, this is such a disaster,' he groaned. 'One night out. That's all she wanted. Pick up kids, take them home, feed them and put them to bed. Couldn't even manage that.'

'Ianto, they're kids. They'll be fine. You've got the Captain on the case now.'

That's what he was worried about, he thought, as he hung up.

His phone rang eight minutes later. Jack must have broken a land speed record to get there.

'David? It's Uncle Ianto,' he said when the phone was passed over.

'Who's he?' David asked, cutting to the chase.

'He's my boss. My car broke down so he's going to pick you up, okay? Is Mica okay?'

'I wanna speak to Uncle Ianto!' He heard her wail in the background. That answered that question.

'Just go with Jack, alright? Keep the phone and call me if you need me.' He just hoped his number was listed under "I" for Ianto, and not "S" for Sexy.

It wasn't until he saw the large black car rolling up, that he realised he hadn't set down any ground rules. What had Jack said to them? And more importantly, what would they relay to his sister? Maybe he should've just called a taxi.

Jack's window rolled down. 'Cardiff Metro taxi service. Where can we take you?'

Ianto rolled his eyes and got in, looking  at the back seat in relief. 'Everyone alright?'

'Brilliant!' David cried. 'Uncle Jack let us go through red lights and everything. It was so cool.'

'I like the blue flashy lights,' Mica added.

Uncle Jack? Good grief.

'Is Jack staying for tea?'

'Please, please,' Mica begged. 'Uncle Jack promised me a story.'

'With aliens!' David added.

Ianto sighed. 'Promise not to tell your mum?'

'Promise!' they chanted.

'Hope you don't mind fish fingers, Jack.'

'Got tomato sauce?'

'Loads.'

'It's a date, then.'
