Warnings: none
Spoilers: none
Summary: Ianto thought he was in for a peaceful evening
Disclaimer: I don't own them.
The thing Ianto liked best about his house was the silence, especially at night when a good night's sleep was all he really needed. It had been worth paying extra knowing that the neighborhood was hooligan free.
Settling back into his pillow he reveled in the peace and quiet until a sound interrupted.
Clunk.
That was the front door.
Torchwood agents were permanently on alert for alien threats. Instead of reacting, he listened, mentally mapping out the entity's movements before deciding on a course of action.
Thud.
Sideboard in the hallway.
Crash!
Photo frames that had been sitting on the sideboard.
Thump, thump, thump.
Stairs. Definitely not putting a tall vase in that corner.
Donk!
Banister at the top of the stairs. That one sounded like it hurt.
Creeeeaaaaakkk...
Floorboard just outside the bedroom door. Really should get that fixed.
Then there was nothing but silence. A chill ran down his spine. Someone had lifted the blankets, letting out all the warm air.
'Thought you were pulling an all nighter,' he said, as Jack crawled into bed and cuddled up behind him.
'Got lonely. You should really think about putting in some night lights.'
'Or having a less clumsy boyfriend.'
