Jack was leant back in his chair when the furry black creature flashed across his desk.

The next thing he knew he was flat on his back on the floor.

‘Jaaaaackkk,’ Ianto called, shaking his shoulder gently.

Jack blinked a few times.

‘Why do you look all twinkly?’

‘That’ll be the stars from your whack on the head. What happened?’

Jack lay back, confused, until a small squeak interrupted.

Colin, the spider mouse was perched on his chest.

‘Argh, get it off, get it off!” Jack cried.

Ianto scooped up the tiny creature.

‘Did you scare Jack again?’ he cooed.

Awww! Cute Colin! Poor Jack just can't win, the spider mouse gets more sympathy than he does!

He just needs to get over his completely irrational fear of them (and possibly learn not to lounge so far back in his chair that sudden movements cause him to fall out of it!) :)

I sympathise with Jack; I'm fine with mice, but not with spiders, so I don't know how I'd react to Colin. Tipping his chair back is a bad idea though. ;)

He's definitely more mouse, just eight legs instead of four, and a bid pudgy like a hamster. I wish I could have a Colin!

Hmm, maybe I could cope with eight legs on a mouse... It seems to be the legs thing that bothers me with spiders, since I can happily handle all kinds of beetles and eve the six-legged so-called Harvest Spiders. Of course, they're slow moving while big spiders scuttle rather unpleasantly...
