Summary: Ianto hopes it's just a false alarm. A double drabble.

Ianto curled over on his side at the sudden twinge of pain which roused him from slumber. It wasn't an easy thing to do, shifting that much bulk and weight these days.  

No, he thought, slipping an arm around his swollen belly. This couldn't be happening yet. It was too early. He wasn't ready to be a dad just yet. Stay right where you are, he begged. Still a month to go.

Jack woke at the movement and wrapped an arm around him. 'Everything okay?' he mumbled.

'Fine,' Ianto lied. Jez had warned him about this sort of thing. He'd had a few cramps like this before, but they'd been milder. What he didn't want to do was to set Jack into a panic. He fussed over Ianto at the tiniest little thing. It was driving Ianto mad, these overprotective instincts. False alarms were to be expected as he got closer to the big day. He was just overreacting to nothing.

Another wave of cramps hit him hard. Somehow he knew it was different this time. Too early but screw it.

'Jack? I think you'd better call Jez.'  

Jack bolted upright. 'What's wrong? Are you okay?'

'I think it's time.'
