Summary: Nobody said Ianto had to like John.

Ianto glared at John with a look that said he wasn't at all happy about this, whatever Jack had promised him.

John eased back in the chair and smirked at him. 'You really don't like me, do you Eye Candy?'

'Jack says I have to be nice to you. He didn't say anything about liking you.'

John gave a little chuckle at that, knowing it would only incense the young man even more. 'I really am here to help.'

'So you keep insisting,' Ianto said, shifting uncomfortably in the chair. At least there was a whole boardroom table separating them, though it was still far too close for his liking, having John sitting there opposite him. He couldn't even believe Jack would let him be in the room alone with John. He had to know that there was no love lost between them. Even Ianto's considerable patience would be tested if Jack and Gwen didn't get here soon. What was taking them so long, anyway?

'What is it about me that you hate so much?'

'Everything.'

It was that arrogant way he carried himself, the fact that he had the cheek to waltz in through their front doors, having bypassed all their security protocols, armed to the teeth with even more weapons and ammunition than the last time he'd come here. His clothes were just the same, and the filthiness of them made Ianto want to strip them off him for a good long soak. Urgh, no, he didn't want think about stripping John naked. He'd only enjoy that. It was clear he still fancied Jack, though given half a chance he'd have taken any of them, or all of them, he thought that highly of himself. 'He's a sex addict,' Jack had told him, which he'd only laughed at and joked that Jack could be described in much the same way. 'No seriously,' Jack had replied. 'It's a condition. He literally can't stop himself.'

Ianto cringed at the thought. John was here now. What was to stop him from trying to manage his condition by getting his daily fix? He didn't want to think about anyone helping him out on that front, especially not Jack. If he so much as tried it, he'd have John castrated, fixing his problem for him permanently.

Perhaps it was wrong, but he felt jealous. John was an ex-Time Agent, like Jack had been. He could travel all across space and time at the drop of a hat. The kinds of things he'd seen and the adventures he could have were endless. He was like The Doctor Jack loved so much. Ianto couldn't compete with that, being just a plain ordinary human. Once upon a time, John and Jack had been a thing. What was to stop them from picking up where they'd left off? Maybe they already had. They could take off together, having adventures all their own. That made him feel sick. Jack wouldn't, would he? He looked at John, trying to find the answer in his eyes. He only smiled that cocky smile of his, and made Ianto want to reach across the table and grab him by those scruffy lapels, demanding to know the answer. That was the real reason he hated John so much. John threatened the fragile relationship he was fostering with Jack. He didn't know what he'd do if Jack dumped him, and it would be ten times worse if it was on account of John Hart.

'You look tense, Eye Candy. You shouldn't frown so much. It'll cause premature wrinkles. Jack doesn't like the wrinkly type.'

He balled his hands up into fists beneath the table squeezing so hard he could feel his fingernails digging into his palms, leaving marks.

'It's okay, though,' John added. 'I'll still think you're pretty. Maybe afterwards, we could? I mean, Jack's incredible in bed, but the least I can do is give you a chance to audition. You might be able to compensate. '

Ianto was about to throw himself out of the chair and straight at John when he felt strong hands on his shoulders.

'Ianto is perfect just the way he is,' Jack said. 'And the sooner we deal with you, the sooner we can get back to enjoying that perfection.'

'You're no fun, anymore,' John sulked. 'Do I at least get to watch?'

No way, Hart! Jack likes to keep Ianto all to himself, you don't get to play.

I've never loved Jack so much as I do right now. :)

"Ianto is perfect just the way he is." Aww... that's so sweet! Ianto shouldn't worry, he's a much better choice than John. All John is, is trouble!
