Notes: Jack is forced to seal Gray away for all eternity. A double drabble.

'You got my note?' Jack asked, standing over Ianto's desk.

Ianto nodded. Jack never bothered with official paperwork, but on this one occasion he'd dealt with the matter from start to finish. It was understandable. He'd just frozen his long lost brother in one of their cryochambers in the morgue. All the necessary information had been logged personally, bypassing Ianto's usual process.

'I could have handled it for you,' Ianto said.

'You've got a lot on your mind,' Jack said, as if he himself didn't. Everything just felt that little bit harder to do when all he could think about were Owen and Tosh. He was grateful to have anything to do that would take his mind off it.

'Why?' Ianto asked. He was alive. Why seal him inside a cryochamber? 'Surely locking him in the cells was a better option.'

'He's damaged. Broken,' Jack said, looking broken himself. 'He's a danger to us and to himself. The only safe, humane thing to do was to lock him away until...'

'Until what?'

'Until I figure out a way to fix him.'

Ianto studied the sadness in Jack's eyes and realised that Jack knew there was no way to fix Gray.
