Notes: Jack has been sent on a very important mission for the Crown. A double drabble.

'Is it done, laddie?' Archie asked as Jack waltzed back into the Torchwood One facility.

'Signed, sealed and delivered,' Jack confirmed, giving Archie his best reassuring smile. It was still taking some getting used to Archie's appearance, having aged nearly forty years in the blink of an eye.

'She's mad,' Archie declared.

Jack chuckled. 'Is that any way to speak about Her Majesty? She kept us open which is nothing short of a miracle.' Archie raised a questioning eyebrow at him. 'Of course she's mad,' Jack agreed. 'What kind of monarch wants to adopt an alien as a pet?'

Archie folded his arms across his chest. 'You reminded her about the rules?'

Jack rolled his eyes. 'Insofar as I could without telling the Queen of England what to do,' he replied. 'Best if you don't take it anywhere near the horses, ma'am. It only likes to eat green vegetables, ma'am. No scratching it behind the antennas unless you want to lose your hand, ma'am...'

'And?'

'And she promises only to take it for walks inside the palace gardens. It won't be going on vacation to the Isle of Wight. The twentieth century's first advocate for responsible pet ownership. Who knew?'
