Notes: Ianto finds himself falling for Jack. Literally. A double drabble.

'Do you think it will be a long meeting?' Ianto asked, jogging up the steps of city hall.

'When have you ever known me to hang around for a long meeting?' Jack replied.

'That's true. You have the attention span of a gnat. I only meant-'

'Careful,' Jack said, gripping a tight arm around Ianto's waist as he slipped, preventing him from tumbling into a heap on the floor. 'I should have warned you, they re-polished all the floors at the mayor's office last week.'

Ianto righted himself, hoping no one had seen his ungraceful flailing before Jack had caught him. He tested the floor with his shoe. Jack was right, it was absolutely treacherous.

'We should mention it to the mayor when we see her. Someone is likely to seriously hurt themselves.'

'Don't worry,' Jack said. 'I already have. I was paying our council taxes last week and slipped on it. It was worse then than it is now. Cracked my head good and proper. Gave those paramedics a real scare, though. They thought I was dead.'

No wonder Jack had taken forever for such a simple task. 'And when were you going to tell me?'

'Slipped my mind.'

LOL. Cute ending, Jack making a pun. Thank God Jack was able to catch Ianto, he could have really hurt himself and unlike Jack he wouldn't heal immediately.
