Notes: Jack's afternoon with the kids hasn't gone as planned. A double drabble.

'Stupid rift alerts,' Jack grumbled, trudging into the hub. Of all the days, he thought. It seemed no amount of good planning counted. The rift predictor promised today would be quiet. A perfect day to accept doing the school run for Rhiannon whilst she was at an appointment and Ianto in London at a conference.

'This is so cool!' David said. Mica jumped up and down, tugging on Jack's hand.

Jack knelt down and fixed each of them with a serious look. 'Now, if your mum asks, we were at Uncle Ianto's house all afternoon playing Nintendo, okay? I've just got to deal with something. Should only take an hour. Promise me you'll stay right here on the sofa and not go wandering. The hub is not a playground.' And Ianto would kill him. There was definitely no "bring your kids to work" policy, let alone bringing someone else's kids.

Mica frowned. 'Aw, can we at least go pet Myfanwy? Please? You promised the next time we visited we could play with her.'

Myfanwy, yes. He needed a babysitter of his own, just for an hour. 'Okay, fine. You can play with her but don't go anywhere near the edge.'
