Summary: It turns out Jack isn't the only one who enjoys bathing in the moonlight.

'Don't you just love these moonlight strolls?' Jack asked, beaming from ear to ear as their feet crunched over the grass, ice crystals already beginning to form a crust over the top, covering lush green with silvery white.

Had it not been for the immediate inherent danger, Ianto might have found it quite beautiful indeed. There was just something about the way the moonlight and snow went together, turning a drab spot into a magical place. He was however more concerned not about how pretty the ice crystals on the grass were, but rather whether they had been disturbed. He was pretty sure weevils didn't stop to admire the beauty of nature on the cusp of winter. It was bound to leave behind large patches of disturbance as it loped through the park.

'We should do this more often, Ianto,' Jack said, seemingly oblivious to what they were out here for.

'If it's all the same to you,' Ianto began, rubbing his hands together in a fury and blowing into them, feeling the tepid breath do almost nothing to warm then up, 'I'd rather we spent nights curled up under a blanket on the sofa.'

'I wasn't suggesting we shouldn't,' Jack replied. 'But this is nice, too.'

'Yes, tracking down a deadly weevil in the middle of the night when it's about five minutes from starting to snow again.'

'At least we've got the world's biggest nightlight to help us out,' Jack said, pointing up at the moon. For once his comments weren't hyperbole. It literally was the biggest nightlight in the world. The only problem was that whilst it might make it hard for their quarry to hide, it also made them a lot more visible.

Jack began humming, ever so quietly -Moonlight Sonata if Ianto was any judge. How apropos of him, he thought, though how anyone could hum and strain their ears for the sound of weevils was anyone's guess. It didn't bother Jack in the slightest, so Ianto tried not to let it bother him. He found the sound of Jack's low melody somewhat calming. Perhaps that was why he did it. They'd done this a hundred times and yet every single outing filled Ianto with a trepidation he couldn't dislodge. He'd come too close to death to be complacent about just how quickly a weevil could turn on him and tear his throat out.

Jack's humming stopped abruptly and Ianto froze in response. Jack's facial expression was clear to see, frowning as he looked on.

'What is it?' Ianto whispered. 'Did you see it?'

'I see it alright. Whether I believe it is another matter.' Jack gently took him by the shoulders and pulled him over to put him in line of sight of the weevil. It was lying on the ground, arms and legs flapping from side to side.

'Is it?' He couldn't verbalize the rest.

'Making snow angels in the grass?' Jack supplied. 'I think it might be. A good night for it.'

I'm sure the weevil saw someone doing it one day and thought "that looks like fun" :)

LOL! Weevils are picking up human habits now! Still, of it's happy and not doing any harm...

I know. It feels wrong to tranq a weevil when it's having such a nice time. :)
