Summary: Bunty has yet to master taking care of all of Newt's creatures. A double drabble.
Bunty huffed, setting her hands on her hips. 'Merlin's beard!' she muttered. Why did Newt's Demiguise have to be so difficult? 'If you don't come out, Newt will be very upset!' she cried, hoping to appeal to the Demiguise's sensitive nature.
She searched everywhere, trying to be as totally unpredictable as possible. That was the trick, Newt assured her. Demiguises, not only skilled at making themselves invisible, also perceived the world based on future probability rather that seeing what was happening right in the present moment.
She alternated searching totally impossible places with more likely ones. It was only when she stood up, having run her hand under a workbench, finding only a handful of walnuts, that she perceived the tiny blue Occamy hovering seemingly in mid-air. She reached out a hand and scratched its tiny head and the Demiguise faded into view, cuddling the tiny winged creature.
'There you are,' she said with relief. 'You're very naughty, disappearing on me like that.' The Demiguise continued to stroke the baby Occamy. 'If you help me put him back in his nest will you promise not to wander off again?'
The Demiguise nodded slowly.
There, that wasn't so hard, she thought.
