Summary: Ianto has a plan for putting up a good front. A double drabble.

The glorious scent of baking hit Jack the moment he stepped through the door. He rushed to the kitchen hoping for a sample.

'Don't touch,' Ianto warned him. 'They're not yours.'

'Muffins?' Jack remarked. 'Half the house isn't even unpacked from boxes yet, but you've got time and equipment enough to make muffins?'

'One batch for Gwen and Rhys when they come over, and one batch for our new neighbours.'

'We're already on first name terms with our neighbours?' Jack asked, sounding surprised.

'No, but it never hurts to make a good first impression. Considering what they're likely to have to put up with, comings and goings at all hours, and strange noises inside our house, it seems only fair.'

'So, what, this is subterfuge? Make 'em think we're harmless?'

Ianto nodded. 'Precisely. Just the friendly married couple next door. Nothing strange about us at all, even accounting for your choice of wardrobe.'

'You like my wardrobe.'

'I do. That doesn't make it stand out any less. Nor the giant black car that will end up in our driveway more often than not.'

Jack sighed. 'You made me take the word Torchwood off the roof.'

'And now you know why.'
