Challenge: 582 - Dial at [livejournal.com profile] tw100
Notes: Jack should know better than to trust his dodgy contacts. A double drabble.

'You're late,' Jack declared, pulling back his coat sleeve and studying the dial on his watch as his contact finally came into view. It was dark in the underground carpark, but not so dark that Jack couldn't tell the time as he emerged from the shadows himself.

'I'm not late. You're early,' the man argued. 'Daylight savings last week, don't you remember?'

'Oh. My mistake, then,' Jack replied, turning the hands on his watch back an hour. Little things like that were easy to forget about when you could barely keep track of what day of the week it was. Sometimes he couldn't even tell what month it was.

'Only joking. I am late,' the man replied. 'Easy to pull the wool over your eyes, son.'

Jack clenched his teeth in annoyance. He wouldn't give him the satisfaction of watching Jack stand there and fix it again. He'd just make a note to change it back later. 'Do you have what I'm after or not?'

The man unbuttoned his trenchcoat and reached inside it, much like those sleazy guys who hawked fake Rolex watches on the high street. 'I think you'll be quite pleased with what I've got for you.'
