Summary: Ianto is fed up with Cardiff's unseasonally chilly winter.
'Curse all of this bloody snow,' Ianto grumbled, sticking his shovel into the thick snow drift that had piled up by the tourist door. It was heavy and slushy, trying to freeze back over into one solid piece of ice as the temperature had begun to drop again. He should have been freezing, but instead he was working up a lather inside his many layers of clothing.
'Stupid snow,' he said, flinging the shovel full of ice out over the edge of the quayside and into the bay. It was half a wonder the whole bay hadn't frozen over. It's saltwater, he reminded himself. Harder to freeze than fresh water. Didn't stop the fresh stuff from falling from the sky however. He'd had a brief moment of panic when he'd tried to push open the tourist office door, finding it jammed tight against the snow. Now he was determined to clear it so they wouldn't get trapped inside.
'Here you are,' Jack said, poking his head out through the door. 'I was wondering where you'd gotten to.'
'Just trying to unbury us,' Ianto replied. 'I know how much you hate being buried alive.'
'You're chucking it into the bay?' Jack said, sounding aghast. 'But we could have built a snowman!'
Ianto leaned heavily on the end of the shovel, catching his breath. 'I've had quite enough of snow, thank you very much.' Snow in Cardiff at this time of year was just unheard of.
'Hey, a lot of people like snow, y'know,' Jack argued.
'I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water,' Ianto replied, flinging another shovel full out over the quay. 'If you love the snow so much, you can finish shoveling it. Build a replica of the Millennium Centre for all I care. I'm going inside.'
