A belated Christmas wrap up

Rather late, I know, but since I was flat out trying to hit my GYWO target before the end of the year I didn't find time to post anything else. This year our social committee at work decided to ramp up the old Christmas spirit by having a decorating competition.
I was allocated to team "too busy to decorate" since the rest of my real team are at the other end of the office and all the manager's offices are along the back wall. Despite the lack of spirit, I took it upon myself to not embarrass ourselves by doing next to nothing, and so set off on my three week journey to do my bit (and yes, still fit in all of my own work).
Needless to say our of the six teams we didn't even place, but we were up against a entire section of office turned into gingerbread houses and a full compliment of carolers upstairs. Overall the judgement day morning was a hoot though and everybody excelled themselves with food and merriment.
Photos under the cut.
The giant gingerbread houses of 2019 (apologies it's a bit blurry)

An office fit for a grinch

Eight foot giant polar bear? Yes, please.

And, yes, they papered the entire office wall and door.

The audit team went with the Aussie summer Christmas, complete with beach cricket and an esky full of beer (though they stole the tree from reception, the plants from upstairs, and all the balls from the gym!)

My paper chains (all 25 metres of them!)

Snowflakes I stuck on all the office windows (cut by hand - all 140 of them!)

My grinch sign for the grinch in our team who refused to dress up as Santa.

Some more of my snowflakes and fake gifts

I bought a tree for the team (everything in my decorating world had to be blue, white and silver. Luckily Big W came to the party and I found matching decorations)

Blow up Santa and Teddy on a bike (donated by the biker enthusiast in our team)

Lolly trees made by the baker in our team

More donated nativity stuff and gingerbread tree (so yummy)

More of my decorating efforts - I think these turned out pretty well. Crepe streamers, who knew?

Donated reindeer. Tinsel trees I bought which I fluked finding in the $2 shop.

More crepe paper walls, and felt glitter placemats that made good window decals.

Ah, my "art installation" paper tree stuck on the giant pillar in the middle of the pod (thank you, Pinterest). I don't love it but when I asked to take it down last week the guys said they wanted to keep it. I guess it's staying there until the partners tell them to take it down.

I do love my little winter wonderland wall. :)

Letter to Santa (not sure anyone read it, though)

Someone in the team bought these online, giant santa hats for desk chairs. Fabulous!

Some tinsel, bows and bells for my office.

Cute little tinsel candy cane I found weeks before the competition.

Cute reindeer bought at the same time.

My faithful tinsel desk tree which I've had for years perched next to my vase of fake tulips.

Hanging decorations. In hindsight next time I would just put them on the tree.

Sign to the upstairs Christmas kingdom.

Tinsel art.

Upstairs decorations (they have the unfair advantage of their pod partitions already being red and gold)

Santa stuck in the chimney.

Disturbing elves with pictures of the team.

Decorations in the plants (yeah, they get pretty plants upstairs, too)

Lovely, traditional tree.

Not sure how the judges felt about having their faces plastered to fat reindeer decorations...

Another serial paper crafter like me (but definitely not Ian!)

Super cute reindeer.

More papercraft, this time Santa and his sleigh. Love this.

Expensive donated decorations

Tinsel and bells

Soldiers and poinsettia

When I said "go on, hug the snowman" I didn't think he'd actually do it.

Wrapping paper tree made by our awesome summer intern Clare.

What to do with a totally unoccupied office...

Fancy chocolate cake (donated by a colleague's friend who is a master pastry chef)

Sign made by Team Dasher (the carollers who won)

Steve as Santa, just too hilarious for words.

Just the most fabulous tree. I wish it were mine!
