Summary: Bronn can't believe he's putting friendship ahead of survival. A double drabble.
Bronn cuts down one of their own men with impunity; not because the soldier is fleeing the battlefield - although by rights he should be entitled to put his sword through any coward who refuses to fight - but because the man is so out of his head that he's running with his sword pointed up. In his terror he hasn't even noticed that he's about to skewer Bronn as he flees so Bronn skewers him first. In a me or them argument, Bronn chooses himself every time.
This isn't much of a battlefield he decides. A giant dragon burning their entire force unannounced is hardly a fair fight. They don't stand a chance, which means Bronn intends taking the gold they pillaged and higtailing it himself.
Or he would have, if he hadn't spotted Jaime standing there in his golden armor, holding one of those scorpion arrows. The dragon has seen him. That stupid Lannister cunt was going to get himself roasted in a heartbeat. His only hope was to dive in the river but Jaime doesn't move an inch. Bronn should leave him to his fate but something drives him forward instead.
'I must be out of my fucking mind.'
