Notes: There's no sneaking past Ianto's keen ears. A double drabble.

Jack let out a contented sigh as he finally slipped under the duvet sometime after three am. What a day, he thought, feeling like he was about to fall asleep even before he made it home. When there was no movement next him him he let out another sigh, pleased that he hadn't woken up his lover.

'What time do you call this?' Ianto asked, catching him by surprise.

Jack turned on his side. 'How are you awake? I was extra quiet so I wouldn't wake you.'

'I'm a light sleeper. Comes with the territory.'

'But I was extra, extra quiet.'

'To be honest, I'd prefer it if you just crashed around the house like you normally do making all kinds of racket. When I wake up because I can hear someone trying to creep around the house, I'm going to assume it's a burglar. Then I'm going to get up, take my Glock from the drawer and go give them the fright of their lives. If on the other hand, it's just you crashing around, tripping over the sideboard because you won't put the light on, I can go back to sleep, knowing that all's well in the world.'

Sadly, no - but on second thoughts, probably a good as I'm going a little crazy after two weeks of lockdown.

I do love Ianto's logic. Someone creeping about is infinitely more disturbing that someone falling over the furniture. Burglars are usually stealthy.
