Notes: This is a battle Jack and Tosh aren't going to win. A double drabble.

Jack threw in the towel, literally. Only as he did, it missed the spot he was aiming for, sailing over the coffee machine and the railing beyond, dropping down in a heap to the floor below. Great. Talk about a successful day.

'Right, Tosh. That's it. I give up. This thing has me utterly defeated.' He scowled at the enormously shiny and expensive coffee machine. Now it was just a really expensive dust collector.

'It's fine,' Tosh insisted. 'I can still pick us up coffees on my way in every morning. And at lunch. Afternoon tea. They do close at five, so after that I'm afraid it's going to have to be instant from a jar.'

Jack growled under his breath. This should have been the light bulb moment when their need for caffeine could be sated cheaply and efficiently. If a uni student could use one of these monstrosities, then why couldn't a computer genius and a fifty-first century Time Agent?

Tosh rested a hand on his arm, as if worried he might cause the machine physical harm. 'Really, it's fine. Or we could just take up drinking tea.'

'Take that back or I may have to fire you.'
