Summary: Tosh has a great idea for how to enjoy a summer evening.

'Morning, Ianto,' Tosh greeted as she swept in through the door of the tourist office, bright and bubbly.

'You're in a good mood,' he commented. 'Must be that summer sunshine that's finally brought everyone out of the doldrums. And after months of winter who could blame you?'

She smiled. 'It's funny you should mention summer,' she said, dipping her hand into her handbag. 'I picked up these this morning.' She handed him a plain A5 pamphlet.

'A 1930's film night?' he read aloud.

'Yeah. They're doing a whole moonlight cinema thing out in park near my flat. The flyers were all over the place when I went to collect the mail from downstairs. I guess they figure if you're in the area you might be interested going, so they letter-bombed us. I remember you said that Jack likes old films.'

'He does,' Ianto replied, reading the flyer for a second time. 'If it's black and white it's right up his alley. He loves the silent films with their corny piano and subtitles.'

'I thought you might be interested,' she replied.

'It sounds great, Tosh. A good way to enioy these warmer evenings out in the fresh air. You should come along with us.'

'Oh, no. I don't want to spoil your date night.'

'Nonsense. It'll be fun. I'll get some comfy fold out chairs from the archives and pack them in the car. You just bring some popcorn and lollies.'

'I can do that.'

Jack was of course very excited at the prospect of movie night, and so he was the one getting Ianto and Tosh to get a hurry on that night so that they could take their pick of good spots in the park to set up their chairs. It was lucky he did, as the pamphlets had done their job, bringing out the crowds to camp out and enjoy their makeshift dinners before the sun finally set low enough for the films to begin.

'I never picked you as the black and white movie fan, Tosh,' Jack said, resting an arm around Ianto's shoulder as he got comfortable.

'We all have our guilty pleasures,' she confessed. 'But I don't think I'll ever enjoy them quite the same way as you do.'

'That's probably true,' Jack said. 'You always love the movies you grow up watching, no matter how dated they get.'

'I keep expecting to see you in one of them,' Ianto added.

Jack chuckled. 'Who me? Nah. I was never much of an actor, but I did spend quite a bit of time in Hollywood back in the thirties, and I met a lot of people who were actors.'

'I thought the thirties were all doom and gloom with the depression,' Ianto said.

'Not for the folks making movies, they weren't. They were bringing much needed joy to a decade that didn't have any. People might have been unemployed and struggling to put food on the table, but in the clubs and bars around Hollywood, it was all bright lights and flowing champagne.' He sighed. 'Ah, those were the good old days.'

'Perhaps,' Ianto said, 'but they couldn't have made Jurassic Park back in the thirties.'

Tosh sat back and watched with amusement as they argued over favourite films like an old married couple. That was at least until Jack dragged her into the argument. She was spared answering though as a hush fell over the crowd and the film started.

Tosh was absorbed in the film. Considering the technology they'd had at the time, it was quite remarkable what they could do. And there was a joyful innocence to it all, watching them tell simple stories, slapstick comedy, over the top adventure and romance. None of it was flashy CGI and green screen stunt work. This was just actors doing what they did best.

She was about to lean over and whisper to Jack that they should do this more often. As she turned to look at him though, he was thoroughly distracted in his attempts to swallow Ianto's tongue. Ianto for his part didn't look to be resisting too hard. Neither one of them it seemed was paying too much attention to the film anymore. It they weren't careful, they were going to descend very quickly from a PG rating to M, or even R.

Oh, well, she thought. At least one of us is watching the movie. They were busy indulging in guilty pleasures of a completely different kind.

I'm sure the boys were enjoying the movie in their own way ;)

I'm sure Jack has probably seen this one before and can fill Ianto in on all the major plot points. ;)
