Notes: Ianto wasn't prepared for everything Torchwood Three would throw at him. A double drabble.
When he'd joined Torchwood Three, Ianto Jones had expected to fade into the background and become the unnoticed figure that lurked in their shadows. And to some extent he had achieved just that, slipping beneath the radar on almost all counts except for making coffee.
There was one thing however he hadn't expected. As little field work as was required of him, Jack had put him through the ringer when it came to training. Everything from firearms through to self defense, Jack made him train as intensely as anyone. It was lucky he was fit because Jack's regime was brutal.
Whilst he'd had some experience with firearms at Torchwood One, the rest was new territory. Sure, he could throw a punch as much as the next kid on the estate, but he'd never learned how to bring down someone twice his size. Jack was determined to make sure he could, even if it meant being the target.
'Come at me,' Jack commanded.
He didn't want to but he knew Jack would lunge at him if he didn't and put him flat on the floor. He sighed and prepared to attack. The sooner he did, the sooner he could go home.
