Notes: Recruitment is tough when you don't have a job description. A double drabble.

'It was never going to work out, Ianto!' Gwen heard Jack say as they entered the hub, still halfway through whatever it was they were debating. Arguing was too strong a word for it. She could tell from the tone Jack employed that this was far from a row.

Iamto sighed and hung his coat on the hook before sliding into his desk chair beside Gwen and firing up his computer.

'What wasn't going to work out?' she asked, intensely curious.

'A potential recruit we came across whilst investigating those report of ghosts in the rafters. He was quite helpful.'

'He didn't have the requisite experience!' Jack hollered, eavesdropping on their conversation.

'Does anyone?' Gwen asked. Torchwood wasn't exactly the kind of job you could prepare for.  'So, why didn't he pass?'

'Oh, he was very capable,' Ianto insisted. 'He was just a little too, um... Well, a little too much like Jack.'

'I heard that! He was nothing like me! I just didn't like his cocky attitude!'

Gwen threw him a confused look. 'We don't want two Jack's?'

Ianto smirked. 'Now that is a loaded question. But perhaps he's right. We can't have Jack being jealous of the competition.'
