Summary: Ianto is torn between being honest and sticking to his guns. A double drabble.
'Are you going to tell me you still don't believe in zombies?' Jack asked.
The thing made a considerable thud as it bounced off the hood of the SUV, tumbling to the ground somewhere now about forty yards behind them. Saying no would only validate Jack's assertion but at the same time he was really hoping that thing they'd just hit was undead and not some poor Cardiff resident whose mind had been temporarily taken over. Even if it did look like the flesh was rotting right off its bones.
'Perhaps you could go a bit slower just in case they're not?' he said, carefully sidestepping the question.
'Ianto, if we go any slower, they could swamp us. The only way through is to gun it and knock them out of the way. Sure, we might run over a couple, but do you really want to be surrounded and have them pulling you kicking and screaming from the SUV?'
Would he kick and scream? Absolutely. Would he wonder for just those few terrifying moments whether being killed by one would make him like them? Possibly. Would he give Jack the satisfaction of saying he now believed in zombies. No chance.
