Notes: Professionalism can only get Owen so far. A double drabble.

'There's no need to be so squeamish,' Jack said, leaning over the railing and watching Owen conduct his examination of the creature under sedation.

'I'm not squeamish,' Owen huffed. 'This is what thorough and competent medical examination looks like.'

Jack threw his hands up in defense at Owen's attitude. 'Okay. All I'm saying is that you don't have to keep avoiding that area,' he said, pointing to the spot that Owen had been purposefully avoiding so far. 'That's its tentacle, not its-'

'Yes, well I suppose you'd be an expert, wouldn't you?' Even if that was exactly what Owen had assumed it was. 'Can I ask why it only has one?'

'You've only got one,' Jack replied. 'Unless you're not telling me something.' He winked and raised a lascivious eyebrow at Owen.

'Tentacle!' Owen roared. 'I was referring to the tentacle! Jesus Christ.'

'Oh, that?' Jack shrugged. 'They're a little shy. I guess once it wakes up and realises you don't want to hurt it, it might poke out a few more. They like to get to know you with them.' He grinned. 'And I just know how much you love the touchy feely aliens.'

Owen scowled. 'Oh, so much.'
