Notes: Owen discovers the consequences of bad language. A double drabble.

Tiny feet scampered across the hub, coming to a halt as they found the tall, solid wood of Jack's desk.

‘Uncle Jack! Uncle Jack! Uncle Owen said some naughty words!’

Jack looked down at his adopted niece Anwen. He loved that little girl to pieces and always enjoyed any excuse for Gwen to bring her to the hub to spend the day. He picked her up and set her on his hip, even though she was getting a little big for him to carry her around anymore.

‘Owen!’ Jack called out, poking his head over the medical bay railing. ‘Have you been swearing again?’

Owen scowled at him. ‘So would you if the alien you were chopping up had razor sharp spines all over it,’ he replied, already bandaging his finger.

‘Uncle Owen, did you get a boo boo? Daddy says bad words when he gets boo boos, too.’

‘Too bloody right I did.’

‘Owen,’ Jack growled. ‘Watch you tongue around little ears.’

‘This place isn't exactly G rated!’

‘Well, today it is. Anwen, sweetie, what's say we go get ice-cream?’

She squealed, hugging him. ‘Yay!’

‘Rocky road, thanks,’ Owen said.

‘Nope. Ice-cream is only for good boys and girls.’
