Summary: Torchwood will provide more than enough to keep Tosh engaged. A double drabble.

'This is the hothouse,' Jack announced, giving his new teammate the grand tour of the hub. He'd been here on his own so long that he'd forgotten just how overwhelming it could be to the completely uninitiated.

'You mean you have alien plants here?' Tosh asked, unsure which direction to look when every angle was vying for her attention.

'Are you a green thumb?' he asked, genuinely interested in the answer. Plants weren't really his thing. He could look after himself, but caring for other things was a challenge.

Tosh shrugged. 'Not really. I think I killed a fern once. But I'm willing to learn.'

Jack shoved his hands in his pockets. 'Oh, I think I can find enough things to satisfy your curiosity. Plants are just the tip of the iceberg. I expect you'll be more interested in the kinds of alien technology we gather.'

'I'm not sure I'd know where to begin. But I'm excited.'

Jack placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled warmly, glad he'd made the decision to bring her in. It was easy to take all of this for granted. A fresh perspective on the wonder of the universe was just what he needed.
