Summary: Kathy is going to need a lie and a half to save her career. A double drabble.

'This is an absolute PR disaster,' Kathy Swanson mumbled, running a hand through her hair and trying to figure out if she was still going to have a job in the morning.

She supposed all she could be grateful for was the fact that it hadn't been her car that had been melted into an indistinguishable heap in one of Cardiff's busiest streets. Still, no one was going to be happy about two squad cars going the same way. There was a bollocking of epic proportions coming her way since she'd been the one that had requested the backup in the first place.

'You look worried, Detective,' Jack said, appearing behind her as his team were scraping up melted car and shoveling it into a bin.

'Wouldn't you be? The brass are never going to believe an alien ate the cars and spewed out the bits it didn't want.'

'Well, we could always leak a story to the press about vandals and a batch of stolen medical grade acid.'

'How convincing would you make that?'

Jack grinned. 'Very. It's what we do best.'

Kathy sighed. 'I'm going to owe you for this, aren't I? Even though this is your fault.'
