Summary: Jack has the perfect solution to every bad night. A double drabble.
Jack carefully slid the tiny white tablet across the laminate table and waited for a reaction.
'What's that?' the girl asked. 'I mean, it's really sweet of you to take me out for a cuppa after everything, but… I'm not that kind of girl. I don't do drugs.'
Jack toned down his thousand watt smile into something a little more sincere. 'I have absolutely no interest in taking advantage of you,' he assured her. After the things she'd seen tonight, he didn't think even the best party drugs on the planet could take the edge off that enough to want to take him home to bed with her -which was a bit of a shame because she was really cute and not at all ditzy.
'Oh.' She looked mildly disappointed now.
No, Jack told himself. Don't backtrack. Stick to the original game plan. In different circumstances on a different night, definitely, but not tonight. 'Ever wished there was a way to wipe out the memories of bad stuff?'
'Only all the time,' she replied.
Jack nodded down at the pill. 'There's your answer. Totally harmless, give you some hazy amnesia about the whole thing and then you move on.'
