Summary: Jack needs to keep it together. A double drabble.
Jack felt a rush of panic flood through him as he returned to life, feeling the bite of the cold chains wrapped around his wrists. For a moment, he was back on the Valiant, dangling there like a puppet on strings, waiting for the Master to come and manipulate them. Just the thought of more torture made him scream on the inside.
He blinked again, smelling not the vaporous fumes from the inner workings of that huge vessel, but the slightly salty damp that was immediately familiar. The hub. He was at the hub, yet the chains were still as real as anything.
John. That memory came back to him as well. John had tried to kill his team. Jack had come back to the hub to try and locate him, but John had beaten him here. John had done this which meant he wasn't finished with them yet.
Jack mustn't panic. What happened to him in the past had to stay buried, however terrible it had been. He couldn't afford to let that fear dominate him now. His team, his city, depended on him and what might come next. John was always more dangerous than anybody had ever understood.
