Summary: Jack knows bad news when he sees it. A double drabble.
Jack should've known it was too much to hope that he might make his return to Cardiff a smooth one, without any drama. When he saw the hologram projecting from his vortex manipulator, he knew it was not to be. In fact, things were about to get worse before they got better. His past had returned.
Just seeing his former partner in full definition made his stomach twist in knots. John Hart was bad news anywhere, but here in Cardiff it was way worse. John never left any place without having caused some kind of destruction and chaos.
He wasn't even sure how John had tracked him back here to Earth in the first place. There wasn't time now to worry about the how or the why. All he knew was that he had to get to John and get him out of here as quickly as possible, before he could hurt anyone.
He cast a look back up at the rooftop where they'd been not five minutes ago. Too late for that already, he realised. John had already killed once. How many more before Jack could put a stop to him? This was one job Torchwood weren't ready for.
