Summary: Gwen has to face worse things than Torchwood. A double drabble.

Gwen growled as her phone beeped for the fourth time since they'd left home. She checked the message even though she didn't want to and immediately regretted it.

Rhys raised an eyebrow as he flipped over the price tag on the sofa they'd been looking at. 'If it's work, you can just say so, Gwen. No need to get all worked up about it.'

'It's not work, Rhys.' God, but she wished it were. 'It's your bloody mother again.'

'Oi, don't let her catch you using language like that,' he warned. 'Bad enough one of us gets clipped round the ears for using words like that. I got told off for using "balls" the other day. I mean, balls, Gwen. I could've meant snowballs, not, you know… balls, balls.'

Gwen rubbed a hand down her face. 'Honestly, Rhys. That woman and her opinions on everything wedding are exhausting. I get more tired from listening to her witter on about table settings and hor d'oeuvres, than working three days straight at Torchwood.'

'Well, you could always dump me,' Rhys suggested. 'Fix all your problems right there.'

She grabbed his hand. 'No chance. For better or worse, isn't that what they say?'
