Summary: Owen has come off second best. A double drabble.

Owen caught Jack's smirk as he tried to carefully extract the wad of tissue from his nose without setting it bleeding again.

‘You look like you got into a fight,’ Jack observed, standing there all perfect and smug with his arms folded.

‘That's because I bloody well did,’ Owen sniped back. ‘Like you didn't know.’ He hadn't exactly stopped to help Owen when the guy had started swinging fists. ‘You could've helped.’

Jack gave him a non-committal shrug. ‘How was I to know a dead guy would put up a fight?’

‘Well, I reckon if the last thing you remembered was being stabbed, you'd probably fight like hell when you woke up as well.’ It's what Owen would have done. Who knew if the bloke who'd tried to do you in was still around waiting to finish the job.

‘I held him back from socking you a second time, didn't I?’

Owen snorted, gingerly inspecting his bruised face and swollen nose. ‘Not until after you and Suzie finished debating whether that stupid glove was working right.’ He hated Suzie and her obsession with that thing. Ianto was right, it was freaking creepy.

‘Anything I can do?’ Jack asked.

‘Go away?’
