Summary: Owen isn't keen on getting close to their latest rift find. A double drabble.
Owen growled loudly. 'Get this stupid thing off me,' he cried, trying to dislodge the odd looking creature with its bony physique, all arms and legs and wrinkly skin. It was even more unattractive than those hairless cats, he thought, wondering why anyone would ever want to own a bald, wrinkly cat in the first place.
'It's cold blooded, Owen,' Jack called back to him, already striding toward the SUV. 'It needs to huddle up against something warm to survive, especially here.' He shuddered and pulled his collar up higher. 'Man, it must be single digits out here today.' Jack looked over his shoulder and smiled. 'God knows why it picked you, though. You don't exactly come across as the warm and cuddly type.'
'Har, bloody, har,' Owen grumbled. 'I thought weevils were ugly, but this thing…'
'Give it here,' Ianto said, snatching it from Owen's awkward grip and tucking it up inside his thick woolen overcoat. 'It can't help how it looks. Poor thing must have been freezing out here.'
'Yeah, alright Mr Animal Lover.'
'Honestly, I have no idea how none of your patients ever punched you when you worked in A and E.'
'Who says they didn't?'
