Title: It's a long story
Fandom: Torchwood
Characters: Ianto, Jack
Author: m_findlow
Rating: PG
Length: 200 words
Content notes: none
Author notes: Written for Challenge 256 - Book at
drabble_weekly
Summary: Jack is busy compiling his memoirs. A double drabble.
Finding Jack sat up in bed with his laptop was surprising. Jack never worked in bed. It was one of his rules. Beds were for sleeping and pleasure, not work. Getting Jack to do work just about anywhere was a challenge in Ianto's experience. There shouldn't even have been any work to do. They were between assignments, simply drifting through space in their modest craft, taking a break from tricky negotiations and ambassadorial duties.
'What are you tapping away at there? Letters back home?'
'Nope. I decided to finally start writing that book I keep talking about. The lives of Captain Jack. What do you reckon about that as a working title?'
Ianto settled on his side of the bed. 'Hmm… needs work.'
Jack made a disappointed sound and kept typing. Ianto leaned over so that he could get a sneak preview.
"I was meant to be executed that morning. Another one of those hustles I assumed would work perfectly but went pear shaped pretty damn quick. Instead I woke up hungover in bed with my two executioners."
Oh dear. He'd always known he'd regret getting the full details of Jack's sordid history. It would definitely need an adult rating.
