Summary: The rivalry between Torchwood One and Torchwood Three is about to heat up. A double drabble.
Ianto knocked gently on the door before entering. 'Package for you from Torchwood Three, ma'am,' he said, gently handing the file across the desk to his boss. 'As we weren't expecting it I took the liberty of checking it beforehand. The covering note from their head of operations said this was all the investigation files you requested authorisation to review, only…'
Yvonne arched an eyebrow at her assistant. 'Yes?' She almost sounded like she was expecting interesting news.
'The file is empty. There's no pages in it.' He felt embarrassed to say it, like he'd lost them.
'Ah,' Yvonne replied. 'I see.'
'Should I… get him on the phone for you? Perhaps organise a meeting. I'm sure there must be an oversight.'
Yvonne crossed one leg over the other under the desk and swivelled slightly in her chair. 'No need, Ianto. He's just toying with us. Seeing if we'll take the bait.'
Ianto looked confused. 'Do people from other Torchwood offices often do that?'
'Most know their place, but Captain Jack Harkness is one of a kind.' She pushed it across the desk at him. 'Please return this to the Captain with our sincerest thanks. Two can play this game.'
