Summary: Owen is finally getting the full Torchwood experience. A double drabble.
Owen was still something of a newbie when Jack asked him to follow him down to the cells one morning. He got excited, thinking Jack was about to show him something amazing that had been captured overnight. Instead, Jack stood in front of a cell that had been holding a weevil for the past three days.
'Time to clean out the cell,' Jack announced. 'And today is your lucky day.' It was already sedated as Jack opened the cell door.
The smell hit Owen full in the face. 'Pwoah! Stinks like crap.'
'They live in the sewers, Owen. That's kind of their main diet. And this one's been on Torchwood diet for days. A bit of roughage has cleaned it out.' Even he pinched his face at the smell this time.
'How come I have to do it?'
'Because everyone else does their share,' Jack replied. 'And you were the one that wanted to learn more about them. Time to go collect your samples.'
Owen looked unenthusiastic at the prospect. 'Can I object?'
'Maybe if we were in a court of law. But since we're not…' Jack thrust a bucket and shovel towards him. 'Mop's over there when you're done.'
