Summary: Ianto is having trouble identifying the thing on his plate. A double drabble.
Ianto poked at the strange grey and green matter with an implement. It didn't move when he poked it, and he couldn't quite tell if that was a good thing or a bad thing. 'I think it's dead,' he finally said, giving it one last poke before dropping the fork.
Jack chuckled and shook his head. 'I'm not sure it was ever alive.'
Ianto slumped back on the bed and sighed. 'I've dealt with a lot in this job, but this qualifies as the most unidentified object of all time.'
'It's hospital food,' Jack replied.
'Oh? No wonder I can't make it out. It's what food looks like after you take away any semblance that it was once food.' He frowned dejectedly at the plastic tray. 'Any chance you can get me out of here before the unidentified objects take on a life of their own and attack us?'
Jack patted his leg. 'Not until you're healed.'
Ianto harrumphed, looking unhappy. 'Well, this excuse for food isn't helping. Think you could bring me an identifiable object instead?'
'What kind?' Jack asked.
'Flat bottom, round top, beef, bacon, cheese and tomato sauce in the middle.'
'I'll see what I can do.'
