Summary: Jack is getting all flustered that someone wants to make changes.
'Don't we have enough work for you anymore now that you're the leader?' Jack asked, spotting his lover idling at his desk. 'If you're down to doodling to pass the time I'm sure there's coffee to be made or shelves that need dusting.'
Ianto looked up from his notebook. 'I'm not doodling. I was… designing.'
'Designing? What?' Jack picked up the notebook before Ianto could snatch it away, denying him the opportunity to be nosy.
Ianto flailed ineffectually at Jack who now had his book. 'It's just some ideas for a new Torchwood logo.'
'In charge for five whole minutes and suddenly you want new letterhead and a crest on the company silverware…'
Ianto rolled his eyes. 'We don't have a crest, but you're right, the company silverware should be engraved. Since we only ever pull it out for the VIPs just to show off,' he teased.
'You know what I mean. What's wrong with the old logo?'
'Nothing. Like I said, I just thought that maybe after a hundred and fifty years we might like to modernise a bit. Don't shudder at me like that,' he said, giving Jack a baleful look. 'All the modern conveniences of alien technology but half of what we have hasn't changed since Victorian times. The plumbing for a start.'
'You think we should get monogrammed toilet seats?'
'Now you're just being silly.'
Jack shuffled a foot across the floor, keeping his eyes focused on it rather than Ianto. 'I'm just saying, why change things? They were okay when I was in charge.'
'Right. Am I allowed to change electricity suppliers or is that a little bit too left of field for us to contemplate as well?'
'I wouldn't even know who we use now.' Jack started at the drawings again. 'Hmm... Starting to wonder if having my husband as my boss was such a good idea.'
Ianto raised an eyebrow. 'Oh, really? Well, it worked just fine when the shoe was on the other foot and it was you being my boss.'
'Well yeah, but that just obviously made sense at the time.'
'Why? Because you're the dominant and I'm the submissive? I don't remember us being so defined.'
Jack smirked. 'I do love it when you're all bossy with that whip.'
'Do I need to get it out now? Is a change to the corporate stationery just one good spanking away from getting the stamp of approval? I am the boss, but if a paddling will get me what I want…'
'A paddling will always get you what you want.' Jack sighed. 'I suppose I can't stop you if you want to change things.'
'Am I that much of a dictator?'
'No. Do I at least get to tell you which one I like best?'
'So long as you give me your opinion as my husband and not my troublesome employee. Employees don't get whipping and spanking.'
Jack chuckled. 'More's the pity for them. Nice to know I still get some perks.'
