Summary: Jack and Tosh are thoroughly distracted by their newest guests and it's got Ianto's nose out of joint.

'I'm sure you two must have some work to do,' Ianto said, frowning at Jack and Tosh as they continued to fuss over their latest guests. He sighed and rolled his eyes. Everyone was always taken in by the cute and fluffy ones, even if they squealed like a banshee and pooped more than the average highly incontinent pet. Cuddles might be nice but there was always someone else to take over when cute stopped being cute. Usually him.

'You don't need that report on the subterranean inverter stick right now, do you?' Tosh asked, looking at Jack as he cradled the cute and fluffy alien twin to Tosh's.

'Nah, sometime next week will be totally fine. Next month, even. No rush when we've got more important things on our plate.'

There was a huff. 'And yet I had to have the March quarter budget analysis done this morning,' Ianto said, reminding Jack about the horrendous double standards.

'Well, yeah,' was all he got in reply as Jack busied himself using his finger as a toy for the alien to wrap its furry little fingers around. Talk about being sucked in by cuteness! 'Tosh and I were busy saving these little guys from being chilled to the bone in an overturned shopping trolley in a Waitrose parking lot. And,' he shrugged, 'you know, budgets are important and all.'

Ianto repressed a snort. Jack had never believed budgets had any use whatsoever and was always complaining about them. He may have even suggested that their inventor should be sucked back through the void so that such a thing never ended up being created in the first place.

'I'm sure we've probably got a cradle downstairs in the archive somewhere,' Ianto suggested. 'Or if not, I can pop down to the high street and buy one. Or two. Then you'll have a few spare hands to help with everything else. You can't sit there and hold them all day long.'

Jack narrowed his eyes at Ianto even as Tosh was making silly gurgly noises at her charge. 'I'm sensing jealousy here.'

'Not at all,' Ianto replied, knowing full well that he was absolutely being denied cuddles in favour of something more adorable than him. 'I'm simply trying to make your life a bit easier. Little ones are hard work.' And alien infants were even harder.

'We'll be fine, Ianto,' Tosh assured him, even as Jack was giving him the eye roll that said he didn't know the first thing about parenting.

'Okay, well I'll be down in the archives. Working. When you've spent eighteen hours straight holding them to keep them happy and gone without sleep, food and bathroom breaks, don't come crying to me saying "Oh, Ianto, you don't suppose you could find me that cradle now, could you? This baby holding thing is exhausting!" He stomped off, feeling like he should form an alliance of grumpiness with Owen, but not before he heard Jack mutter to Tosh "So totally jealous."
