Summary: Ianto is caught in the wrong end of a simple assignment gone awry. A double drabble.
Ianto's eyes opened to find Jack staring down at him.
'Bet you're not feeling so clever, huh?' Jack asked, folding his arms across his chest as he studied his lover lying there in the bed.
'Not particularly,' Ianto replied, his recollections coming back to him, and knowing that the venom from the creature that had spiked his leg would still take a few hours to flush out of his system, leaving him groggy and sluggish. 'Assume you dealt with it?'
'Of course.'
'So, why do I feel like I've been beaten up in the process?'
Jack's face broke into an amused grin. 'Because Jez had to haul your unconscious arse down nine floors of a partially constructed office tower, that's why.'
Ianto groaned, feeling every bruise. 'He could've used the tradesman's lift.'
'Maybe that'll teach you to be more careful next time. And call us for backup. I'm all for you helping train up probationary agents by throwing them in the deep end, but not if they're going to end up having to save you instead.'
Ianto frowned. 'I had it under control.' And he had. At least he'd waited until it was sedated before passing out on his teammate.
