Jack gasped and panicked as his upper body flung forwards, fizzling with new found life.

Every time he died it was the same - that awful dark nothingness with the sense that he was being watched. And then what came after was worse. Coming back to life was like being hauled over broken glass. Every fibre of his being stung and felt like it was on fire. And then his eyes would fly open and he'd be back, terrified that someone would see what had happened.

Awful and frightening as it was, he couldn't bear anyone to know his terrible secret.
