Summary: Ianto has a unique way of remembering his way around the archives. A double drabble.
'I don't know how you do it,' Tosh said, following Ianto as he expertly wound from one tall stack of shelves to another without ever pausing to consider his location. 'I've been here five years and that place is still a complete maze to me. I don't come down here without a GPS and a cut lunch in case I get lost.'
He smiled at the compliment. 'It's easy once you get the hang of it.'
'And how do you get the hang of it? What's the secret?'
'Every row and shelf has a letter or a number combination. I use acronyms and silly sentences as memory joggers.'
'Not sure I follow,' she said.
He stopped and showed her the label at the end of the row of shelves they'd just approached. 'We had to take two turns to get to the right stack and then find the correct shelf sector. We passed OL3, took a left at SB2, walked down until we arrived at DA4, and then we're after shelf P, box AMG. Or you just remember it as "Owen likes three silly birds to drink absinthe in the forecourt of Prince Albert memorial gardens."
'Not complicated at all.'
