Summary: Jack has his own unique way of being useful. A double drabble.
Greg was beginning to feel annoyed as he sensed Jack's presence, hovering in the background, trying to distract without being overtly distracting. He gave a sigh as he set down his journal on the desk, balancing it on top of the pile of unfinished medical examination reports.
'You could make yourself useful, you know,' he said, addressing the shadow that lurked just out of sight at the top of his medical bay.
The shadow slunk forth, skirting down the stairs and coming to lean against the tiled wall, arms folded with a confident air. 'How so?'
'I have a mountain of things to check off here. Why don't you start with some of that,' Greg replied, pointing at the backlog.
Jack took one look at the pile of bland retorts and checklists and groaned. 'Or maybe I could just stand here and look amazing so that you hurry up and finish them in half the time you'd usually take?'
Greg shook his head. 'You really are a shallow creature, aren't you?'
'I'll have you know that I have a lot of hidden depths, actually.'
'Oh yes?'
Jack smiled. 'Yes. It's just that they're really well hidden under all these clothes.'
