Summary: Ianto is convinced that last night was an aberration and tonight will prove it. A double drabble.
Ianto tugged up the collar on his coat as he walked the five blocks to the Ferret pub. He wasn't quite sure why he was going back there. It was one thing to have ended up there by accident when he was sleep deprived and still reeling from nightmares, but to go back again under his own steam?
He didn't go out and do things on his own. He didn't even sit in a curry house and eat alone, preferring to take it home where his solitude could be enjoyed in private. Sitting at a pub and drinking felt sad and desperate. He was in a bad place but things hadn't gotten that bad, had they?
At the same time though, he'd appreciated the lady behind the bar being so kind and understanding. She didn't know him or what he did, but she'd listened and let him talk. When had he last felt like he could talk to anyone? Not even the team at work. In fact, especially not them. Nobody wanted to know his problems and his seemed to mount up by the day.
He was just going for one beer, he told himself, then he'd head back home.
