Summary: Jack and Ianto's latest guest doesn't like the accommodations. A double drabble.


'Jack!' Ianto's voice rang out.

Jack was hunched over their dining room table, finishing off reports. Today was meant to be for catching up on things. Instead a rift alert only a few blocks from their house had put a dent in that. They were now the proud owners of one small alien squid creature living in their bathtub until they could take it back to the hub.

'It's gone!' Ianto said, stomping down the stairs.

'We left it in the bathtub.'

'I know.'

'We left it there because it wouldn't survive out of water.'

'I know that, too.'

'But now you're saying it's escaped? If it can't survive, then why would it leave? And more to the point, how? Unless it was suicidal. It's not suicidal, is it?'

'Now see, there's the really interesting bit. What we didn't count on was that it was smart enough and dexterous enough to be able to pull out the plug and escaped down the drainpipe. A nice wet environment where it could happily make its getaway.'

'Huh. Why didn't we think of that?'

'Probably because we're not small enough to fit down there.'

Jack nodded. 'Good point. We'd have used the door.'
