Summary: Warm weather means an afternoon off to enjoy it. A double drabble.
'Isn't this great?' Jack said, leaning back in the aluminium chair and basking in the sun with his ice-cream cone. 'We should do this more often.'
'Frankly, if it's all the same to you, I'd rather we didn't have a heatwave,' Owen said, even if it meant an afternoon off work and the boss treating them.
'It's twenty five, Owen,' Jack said. 'Barely lukewarm. Talk to me when we get to forty five. This is practically winter where I grew up.'
'And yet you're still wearing sunglasses and eating ice-cream.'
'Mine's gone all melty,' Ianto complained, watching as part of the chocolate coating cracked and began sliding off the melted ice-cream underneath.
'Well, you always moan about it being too cold. Should be just perfect now.' Ianto's frown suggested it was anything but.
Tosh grinned over the top of her strawberry gelato. 'Eating ice-cream always reminds me of being a kid.'
Owen pulled a face as he watched Jack extract the large chocolate flake stuck in the top of his own cone and attempt to inhale it in one mouthful, adding obscene noises into the mix. 'Some don't have to,' he replied. 'They never grew up in the first place.'
