torchwood100Summary: Jack's hobbies have finally found a use. A double drabble.
‘I can't believe I'm saying this,’ Ianto began, ‘but we've actually found a practical use for your obsession with knitting.’ He was fitting Jack's latest creation onto a grateful alien, much like a naked ferret that was clearly not designed to survive a cold place like Cardiff. Jack's knitted socks were a perfect fit once the bottoms were opened up, stopping them from shivering.
Jack's needles continued their metronomic clacking even as he looked up at Ianto. It was freaky the way he could do that - stare at Ianto and still know exactly what his hands were doing without even watching. ‘I know, right? And you always poo-pooed anything I tried to knit you.’
‘Only because I couldn't stand all the stripes and bobbles.’ Jack couldn't just knit scarves and mittens in nice neutral colours. They had to be bright and adorned with tassels and pompoms.
‘The best part is I don't even have to turn the heels. It's all straight knitting. I'll have a dozen whipped up in no time!’
‘Just remember you still have to do all your other work,’ Ianto reminded him. ‘You don't get to sit here and knit all day.’
Jack pouted. ‘You're no fun.’
