Summary: Jack's coat is happy to provide an essential service to whoever needs it. A double drabble.
‘How's that?’ Jack asked as he pulled his greatcoat tighter around Ianto, making sure there were no gaps where it could hang open, letting in the chill air. He knew it would seep warmth into his bones the moment he donned it. It was Jack's most prized possession if he excluded Ianto from that equation.
Ianto's arms slid comfortably into the wide sleeves, tucking his fingers deep into the coat's generous pockets. ‘Much better,’ he replied. ‘But what about you? Won't you be cold now?’ It was so Ianto to be worried about him, when he was the one shivering and shaking in the night air.
‘Most of the splashing missed me,’ he said, referring to the struggle they'd had getting the weevil out of the local swimming pool. ‘You on the other hand…’
Ianto shivered involuntarily. ‘Yeah, well, looks like I was the decoy tonight. You can owe me for next time.’
‘It'll take a while for me to feel the cold. Hopefully by then we're back at the hub. Maybe a nice hot shower for two?’
‘Seems only fair,’ Ianto replied. ‘I'm soaked in pool water and you'll be freezing by then.’
Jack grinned. ‘Definitely worth freezing for.’
