Summary: A welcome back treat may be a one off. A double drabble.
Jack rolled over in bed and stretched out, relishing the softness of it. Any bed – even the hardest bed on earth – was still better than no bed at all, but Ianto’s bed was the best. The familiar setting settled around him like a warm blanket, making him feel immediately like he was back where he belonged.
Ianto padded into the room just as Jack had woken, carrying a plate and two mugs. ‘It’s not bacon and eggs, I'm afraid,’ he said, apologising for toast and coffee as he settled back down on the bed. ‘Perhaps I shouldn't have knocked back that offer of a hotel room. It’s never going to beat a buffet breakfast. Owen’s probably stuffing his face even as we speak.’
‘But you’re letting us eat it in bed,’ Jack said, reaching for a slice of thickly spread peanut butter, ‘and that never happens.’ Ianto was such a fusspot when it came to crumbs.
Ianto smirked, taking the other half of the peanut butter slice and leaning back against the propped pillows. ‘I guess it’s just my way of saying welcome back.’
‘So, we can have breakfast in bed more often now?’ Jack asked.
‘Don’t push your luck.’
